Privacy Policy

This policy covers the information Valdez Digital collects through this website (valdezdigital.com) and what happens to it. There's no user account system here and nothing is sold to third parties — this is a small, one-person business, and this page reflects that.

Information I Collect

Contact form. When you submit the form on the Contact page, I collect your name, email address, and message, plus your phone number and a website or social link if you choose to provide them. Phone and the link are the only optional fields.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors find and use it — pages viewed, general location (city/country level), device type, and how you arrived at the site. GA4 only runs if you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you decline or don't respond, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. See the Cookies section below.

Separately, the site counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't identify you. It records the page viewed, the site that sent you, and general country, device, and browser information, along with whether a visitor accepted or declined the cookie banner. This runs for every visitor, so I can see how much traffic the site gets overall and check that Google Analytics is working. When someone uses the contact form, it also records whether the message was sent, blocked as spam, or failed to send, never what was written. That lets me catch a form that has stopped working.

Hosting logs. This site is hosted on Vercel, which automatically logs standard server data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for every visitor, as most hosting providers do. I don't access this data directly; it exists to keep the site running and secure.

How I Use It

Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your inquiry — I don't add you to a mailing list or use your information for anything beyond that conversation. Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the site; it isn't used to identify you individually.

Cookies

When you first visit this site, a banner asks whether you're okay with analytics cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics sets a small number of first-party cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions; if you decline or close the banner without choosing, none of this happens. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you switch to decline, analytics stops and its cookies are removed. You can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser add-on. This site doesn't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Third-Party Services

Three outside services help run this site, and each processes a limited slice of your data on my behalf:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — site traffic and usage analytics, only if you accept the cookie banner. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc.) — cookieless visit counts for every visitor. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy notes.
• Resend — delivers the email notification and confirmation generated when you submit the contact form. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

None of these services is authorized to use your data for its own purposes.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your inquiry, then deleted. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics per its configured retention period. Vercel Web Analytics data is kept for 12 months.

Your Choices

The only data I hold directly is what you send through the contact form, which lives in my email inbox. Email freddy@valdezdigital.com and I'll delete that message on request. I don't have visitor-level access to delete individual records from Google Analytics, Vercel's hosting logs, or Resend's delivery logs — those are automated systems I don't control at that level. If you'd rather opt out of analytics tracking entirely, see the Cookies section above.

Children's Privacy

This site isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If how this site collects or uses information changes in a meaningful way, I'll update this page and the date above.
